As I was doing my research I realized that Palmer Ericson, a caretaker for the Camp from 1936 until 1961, was the person that personally built the chapel that exists today. Palmer was so much more than a fixer or cleaner, he was a devoted Christian that had a profound effect on campers and staff members. While we want to use the chapel renovation as a time to honor additional people, we also do not want to diminish the contribution of a man that was so much more than a mere facility caretaker to many, many people.
